So friends, this is an exercise in ego, but I can live with that. It's also the easiest way to encourage stalkers without seeming entirely nuts. I'll live with that too.

About: I'm a student at UBC in lovely, rainy Vancouver. I live in an old house in the city with some rad roommates and a lot of house plants. I'm a writer, reader, activist, cyclist, and a history and anthropology major.

  • "Never try to discourage thinking for you are sure to succeed. / Do not fear to be eccentric in opinion, for every opinion now accepted was once eccentric. / Find more pleasure in intelligent dissent that in passive agreement, for, if you value intelligence as you should, the former implies a deeper agreement than the latter. / Be scrupulously truthful, even if the truth is inconvenient, for it is more inconvenient when you try to conceal it. / Do not feel envious of the happiness of those who live in a fool’s paradise, for only a fool will think that it is happiness." -Bertrand Russell

  • "To have faults is not good, but faults are human. Worse is to have them and not see them. Yet beyond that is to have faults, to see them, and to do nothing about them. • "Any time something is written against me, I not only share the sentiment but feel I could do the job far better myself. Perhaps I should advise would-be enemies to send me their grievances beforehand, with full assurance that they will receive my every aid and support. I have even secretly longed to write, under a pen name, a merciless tirade against myself." -Jorge Luis Borges
