irene grew up looking up to his father. in fact, when she was young, she would always spend her free time in his father’s little office, where she could watch him work and do codes. she had always been fascinated with the idea of converting complex information to something that is often tangible and sometimes useful.

her father was her idol. suffice to say that she loved him very much. until suddenly, he left. for no reason. she hates men. she was 10 when he left her, her brother, and her mother, and they never heard from him since. she loathed him. she loathed men.

she grew and thought about the things she went through. irene realized that somehow, her father leaving did something good to her and her development as a person. at a young age, she found an idea that people sucks and no one will ever stay. her father is her constant reminder that she should not expect anything from the people around her. when his father left, the thought of having children of her own overwhelmed her. thats how she developed her love for pets. she knew she’ll be growing old with animals someday.

however, these things are cute compared to the two things that irene is most grateful to his dad for: 1) her passion for programming; and 2) her mom.

she’s happy that her love for programming didn’t die along her love for his father. her interest and passion remained. not to mention that her mom was very supportive with the career that she so wants to pursue.

irene didn’t realize how blessed she is with her mom until her father left. she had no one else except her mother and her younger brother. she had to stay strong, but staying strong wasn’t so hard because her mother set an example. irene saw how her mother anchored herself back to meaningful living immediately after the breadwinner of their family abandoned them. she found a job and moved on. she never saw her mom angry. she never saw her mom break down again.

she saw, though, how her mother’s income wasn’t enough for the family. irene was certain that she’s got a strength as stable as her mom’s that’s why she made a decision that, for the first time, made her mom regretful. after graduating high school, she decided to take a break from school and earn money for college.

irene worked as a full-time barista, and part-time assistant for radio announcers where she would sometimes be given a chance to talk in front of the recorder mic. unexpectedly, she found things she genuinely enjoyed: serving people, and disseminating information. she found joy in the smiles of her satisfied customers. she found joy in freely expressing her thoughts and herself.

her break lasted for two years. in this two years, she had earned enough money to help her mother send her to college. with this, she enrolled in retrouvaille university and pursued the program game development under the college of visual arts.

irene is now ready to face the next chapter of her life.
