obviously, i'm nostalgic. when i hear a song from my past i get a tug at my heart and wish i could revisit those moments and places they're connected to. i even knew it at the moment, that this was magical. it was the 80s (the crazy clothing, the music, the movies) and i had the best time ever.

• kristy's attic where we all watched horror movies in our PJs with the neighborhood boys because her mom was cool
• trisha's front yard on any given 4th of july in the 80s playing make me laugh, or simon says and red light green light with her dad while (Human League blasted on our stereos), or re-enacting Grease with the neighborhood kids
• mike's truck by the beach or the many other places we drove it listening to oingo boingo and depeche mode, etc
• laura and andrea's parents' livingroom where we played games and entertained each other
• ritesh's livingroom where the boys played D&D and i painted little figurines
• jill's house where we got into trouble, threw parties and hung out in her pool
• kerry's father's boat where we experimented
• forum room 25 at western high school. the drama room after school where we'd spend countless hours laughing
• vanessa's house when her dad was away at work and we'd call the party lines and have water fights and play the dating game or truth or dare (and her sister leonora would show us her boobs)
• anna's house for the slumber parties, the fake seances, and where we threw the biggest party in the OC and freaked out
• joe's mini-bedroom at 2am or in the old van or VW cruising LA with glen
• knott's berry farm's cloud 9 dance nights or fright nights or video-opolis at disneyland
• in the classroom at one of my more successful speech and debate tournaments
• in my bedroom dancing to any number of new albums i just got in the 80s in front of the mirror
• at the skating rink to watch eric's break dancing championship
