  • Picture caption: "Lady in Red" (not a good shot of the sweater AT ALL, but oh well. I've got better examples somewhere else.
  • Background Two years ago, I acquired My two favorite and most versatile sweaters -- wide ribbed V-neck pull-over sweater, moderately light but too much so with long-sleeves.
    • Appropriate for almost ANy occasion. They were super-flattering, and I had one in each of my favorite-and-most-flattering colors: ruby red, and royal purple. (Jewel-tones look best on me, and only the so-called "cool" hue of any given color looks good on me).
    • They were a bit-longish in the torso, meaning the bottom hem lay above the hips but below the waistline. This is a good thing because it achieves just the right proportions, since the neckline is rather low. It also elongates my waist-line, accentuates my small waist, and displays my collarbones in an attractive way, and is perfect to wear with medium-long necklaces, by which I mean thsoe that dangle a bit above the deep-V hem and are visible against the skin. I prefer to pair th shirt with a discreet gemstone pendant, which is also flatters me in a V-neck. I'm petite, and a simple pendant adds vertical interest. It's also a wise accessory because the neckline is so low. It "fills in the gap," although it's not a must. Other size/shapes/variations of necklaces work sometimes, but a pendant is my preference and has a seductive quality over the bare expanse of skin.
    • The ribbing aeew textural interest, slims everywhere, adds especially visual interest along the bottom hem, "cuff" hems, and neckline. The pattern is subtly different along those edges, which adds interest to the piece without disrupting its overall visual flow.
    • The fabric is extremely comfortable and well-made, especially considerating I purchased it at a from mid-line retail store. It is incredibly relient. It lasted me 3 or 4 or 4 years (until a sudden laundry incident involving a new kind of detergent), during which it never frayed. I always hung them u to air-dry, though, if that makes any difference.
  • And so,*
    • I naturally felt an urgent need to replace those sweaters! ...
