- love this boye! my favorite gen 1 starter for sure. it has a great shiny too. i think i might like ivysaur a little more. the bud just improves it for me that little bit more. venusaur is okay but its kinda ugly. obviously intentional but i like pretty things heehoo
- charmander
- charmander is... kinda boring! i dont hate charmander but it just seems bland to me? i like the idea of the fire on its tail reflecting its mood though! charmander is better than both charmeleon and charizard though for sure. i have a strong hatred for charizard lol
- squirtle
- squirtle is cool but? i LOVE wartortle so much it was one of my favorite pokemon as a kid even though i was never into gen 1 that much. all of the lines shinies are ugly though im sorry. they should have been pink. it would have looked so much prettier

- chikorita
- i DONT like chikorita at all. i hate that its face looks so flat and that it doesnt have a nose or snout at all. it looks like its trying too hard to be cute and it just fails because its ugly. im sorry chikorita fans but this is not it. it looks like it would unironically say "im baby"
- cyndaquil
- i would say cyndaquil is my favorite gen 2 starter but i do like totodile a lot as well. the whole cyndaquil line is so cute, but they really downgraded typhlosion when they switched to 3d. i remember seeing that 3d redesign of it a little while ago and MAN i wish they did that
- totodile
- totodile is cute! i actually shiny hunted totodile a while ago and i don't know why because it was not worth it i don't even like the shiny that much and im never gonna evolve it bc totodile is cuter than both croconaw and feraligatr. i like the line's color scheme a lot though

- treecko
- treecko is my least favorite out of the gen 3 starters, but i don't hate it. i feel like all the final evolutions of the gen 3 starters are kinda weak. i dont really like any of them. the shiny version of treecko's line is great. it looks so much better than the regular version
- torchic
- torchic is my favorite gen 3 starter purely based on the base evolution. i dont really like blaziken. combusken is absolutely wonderful though i love it so much. its one of the only pokemon i can draw from memory just because i made so many combusken ocs
- mudkip
- mudkip is what i always chose when playing through oras. im not a huge fan of it but ive grown to love it more just from all my playthroughs with it. i think marshtomp is the best pokemon in the line, its adorable and stupid and i can relate to that

- turtwig
- my least favorite gen 4 starter :( torterra is super cool though!! but even based on the final evolutions itd still be my least favorite. i love this line but i love the other two even more. stop trying to cancel me alexis i already told you i dont hate turtwig
- chimchar
- i LOVE chimchar!!! i really have a weakness for monkey pokemon. its shiny is perfect as well, it looks even better than the original and i love both. i love chimchar more than grookey but rillaboom more than infernape. infernape still slaps hard though
- piplup
- pokemon diamond was my first pokemon game and i chose piplup as my starter when i first played through it. it was definitely another one of my favorites as a kid. i also just love birds. very round. it also makes me nostalgic for when i first got into pokemon

- snivy
- my favorite gen 5 base evolution starter!!! i chose snivy when playing through pokemon black for the first time, which was my second ever pokemon game. serperior is so beautiful as well. another one that makes me nostalgic for my childhood haha
- tepig
- my favorite gen 5 middle evolution!! i absolutely love pigs and boars so tepig is really adorable to me. i love both tepig and emboar but pignite is just so charming to me idk. the whole line has absolutely great shinies too. theyre super underrated i wish more people liked them
- oshawott
- my favorite gen 5 final evolution!! oshawott is really adorable but samurott is just really cool i love it a lot. i love all the gen 5 starters so much i really think they're the best set of starters. gen 5 is my favorite generation when it comes to the pokemon designs, unsurprisingly

- chespin
- chespin is so friend shaped... i love it. its shiny is *chefs kiss* as well. i have a shiny chesnaught that i found accidentally but id love to either reset for or masuda method for a shiny chespin one day. i often hear people say they hate it bc its ugly but its cute!!
- fennekin
- another starter with a great shiny. all 3 of this line are adorable AND have great shinies so thats a big bonus for me. i just dont like foxes that much but they are very adorable. i think braixen is the best one in the line but its really hard to decide
- froakie
- my choice when playing through Y!! i love froakie so much because i only played through Y once, and i got the game in december 2013 so soon itll have been 7 years since i brought it and ive had that froakie (now greninja) all that time. makes me happy

- rowlet
- the roundest of birds... waht the heck. how do i hold one irl?? please hand me this bird! also it has a leaf bow tie what the HELL i love rowlet im gonna cry real tears over him. also dartrix looks like miles edgeworth and thats a cool and epic!

- Yeahahhah i picked litten in all 3 of my sun/ultra sun playthroughs and gave it the exact same nickname bc im predictable! love this cat man. or is it a tiger i guess incineroar kinda is. maybe i should restart one of my games again and name it joe
- popplio
- i dont like popplio too much but brionne and primarina? wonderful. primarina is SO beautiful its one of the pokemon id really love to see irl. obviously that applies to most but primarina especially. i notice that gijinkas of it are always super pretty too

- Monkey Located. it also looks like a furby. a lovely combination. i absolutely LOVE rillaboom too. a big boy. also the fact it plays the drums thats so cool i love that man. thwackey is kind of meh as a design but that name is fuckin perfect

- Fuck scorbunny i hate scorbunny. i really?? do not like rabbit pokemon in general?? i love rabbits in anything else but for some reason in pokemon they just dont do it for me. lopunny can stay but its on thin fucking ice. its shiny is cool thats the only reason it stays
- sobble
- absolutely not. my least favorite starter of all time. i dont like sobble or any others in its line. inteleon is KINDA okay but its on thin ice. drizzile doesnt fit with the rest of its line and i know thats intentional but i dont like it at all. its just ugly as a whole
