Looking out my backdoor - darkness had settled in. The faerie lights on my tree were shining. The faerie light that Lenny gave me - also shining. The woods were full of shadows. The neighbors were in their backyard with their gas firepit lit. They were laughing and the flames looked so warm. Casting fire shadows among the trees.
For this entry I'll mention KoKo. The little dog I grew up with. Part pekignese and part chiuahua. A little brown dog - with slightly buldging eyes and a somewhat smushed nose. Sweet. She rode on the motorcycle with my mother. She traveled to Canada with us. She slept with me throughout my teenage years. Her little ears fell forward just a bit and felt like velvet. She would groan when my alarm clock would go off in the mornings. I think she may have been. almost twenty when she passed. Warm. Wrapped in her blanket. She just went to sleep.
My favorite tea - Irish Breakfast. With just a splash of creamer and occasionally a little honey. Olivia is over for the night so my thoughts are with hearing her playing. And her hugs and how sweet she can be. Tea is very comforting to me. When I was a little girl, my Nanny would make it for me. As I grew up, she and I shared time for tea often. Now with my Lenny, he loves tea as well and some of my favorite moments together are preparing tea and then drinking it. Usually right before we retire to the couch and fall sound asleep while a movie plays on TV.
I did away with my jewelry boxes and armoire quite a while ago. I have my necklaces and some bracelets on hooks (cup hooks) on the wall next to my closet. And then pretty little storage containers for other bracelets, then rings and pins sitting on my dresser. My earrings are in a pocketed holder that hangs on the back of my bedrrom door. So, I ran my fingers through the container that holds the stone bracelets that are stretchy. Ohhh wow, the energy in there! And I was thinking about the fact that I am so glad, for me, that I have my jewelry like this now. It's simple. And I wear it more often, most every day. Especially the necklaces and bracelets. Want to do better with the earrings tho. Even tho at almost 60 I love the dangly, flashy and colorful ones most of all. And yes, I can wear whatever I want. ♥
Sunny. Blue skies and then clouds later. Just a slight breeze and temperatures in the 50's. I hung a load of clothes out on the clothesline and the were almost completely dry late this afternoon.
I love who I am now. Sure, there are things I need to adjust and work on. Always. I thought when I got ready to turn 60 .. it would be depressing maybe and even kinda scary. But the truth is, I think it will be the greatest decade of my life. And yeah, I love my patience, my faith, not giving up, my hope. How I love. And who I am.
