(u guys arent getting a shitpost anymore, this one is just kinda me talking coherently about kinda bad things from my childhood (when i was like 10ish) and how they correlate to my dumb aliens. uh tw for like bullying and I guess sexual abuse? I'm only recently starting to see things that happened to me as what factually happened sooo...)

• Olive is a pseudo-stand-in for myself in some of the more traumatic romance/sex-related events of my life. Though obviously, she isn't me in anything more than inspiration.
• I created a really 'dumbed-down' version of her (Olive) when I was really young (her name was initially Violet and was a butterfly alien), but never really understood why. In retrospective, I can say what I wanted to then, since I actually get what happened now.
• I thought I'd name her in homage to the olive branch; a symbol of peace as she (Olive) gets beaten into the ground again and again and still believes The Dove is a good person for doing the beating.
• I don't give The Dove a name on purpose. It doesn't matter who they were, or what they thought they were doing. Consequences are consequences, they should know better.
• Doves are associated with holiness and blessings in multiple religions, and I thought it would be fitting to see something people assume as the symbol of 'peace' as quite the opposite.
• The real counterpart to the horrid relationship was at least a little rooted in religion. Considering I came out first to them and they said they prayed for me. To be fair, they were younger (I think around 11? 12? It's foggy, sorry), but it still hurt. realDove took me to their church multiple times, and each time I went, I got sick from finding weird shit in my cups.
• Doves are mostly granivores, and rarely eat bugs.
• Considering Olive is based on me and my experiences, I'd probably consider her to be on the ace spectrum. I personally have gone through some experiences that I believe altered how I view romance & sex (From my childhood crush literally dying, a kid forcing my clothes off at camp, to my childhood bully (realDove) getting on top of me & taking my clothes off at a sleepover while I slept)
