Remember that all suffering is made up by your & others' heads ("pain is inevitable, suffering is optional"). Remember that state of serenity on Oct 22-23, 2019 as a truly healthy state. And gently steer yourself into doing 3/3/3+1 with curiosity, self-compassion, mindfulness, the learning-goals approach instead of the performance-goals approach where possible (Er. S.' stuff helps!)

2019:

  • IRON: tea reduces the amount of iron absorbed by the body (wait at least ½ -1 hour after eating); green tea loses its potential as an antioxidant when taken after an iron-rich meal (source); Vitamin C increases the absorption of non-heme (i.e. from plants) iron; lack of iron increases ADHD symptoms.
  • that body temperature falls down quite significantly between 10pm and 9:30am, at 2am-7am it's the lowest - that's why it's so cold to stay up at night even if the room temperature is about the same.
  • "The flavonoids in onions tend to be more concentrated in the outer layers of the flesh. …For example, a red onion can lose about 20% of its quercetin and almost 75% of its anthocyanins if it is "overpeeled.""
  • DSM-5 about ADHD: "Signs of the disorder may be minimal or absent when the individual is receiving frequent rewards for appropriate behavior, is under close supervision, is in a novel setting, is engaged in especially interesting activities, has consistent external stimulation (e.g., via electronic screens), or is interacting in one-on-one situations (e.g., the clinician's office)."
  • there is lecithin in cabbage!
  • consume less carbs and more fibre, if you want to protect yourself against PCOS or slow down its progression (PubMed)
  • losses in general feel about two times as bad as wins feel good (source: Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky’s work on loss aversion)
  • that the more carbs you consume (or was it just refined carbs?), the higher is your body's need for vitamin C. that's why people on carnivore diet or zerocarb diet don't need veggies/fruits/supplements to get enough vitamin C. (learned this in winter, but forgot to log it then)
  • that if you want to build muscle, you should exercise before each meal
  • aluminium:
    • that factory-made baked goods can have lots of aluminium in them (the one that provokes brain disorders) - because of the containers/pots/whatever it's called used in the cooking
    • aluminium cookware (if you cook acidic stuff in it, vegetables/fruits) is dangerous - high risk for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's Disease; guaranteed lower bone density (just one of the many research studies)
  • that it's healthier to eat potatoes with some good protein or/and eat them cold(!) - it lowers potatoes' GI and thus lessens the unhealthy spike in blood sugar from eating them (source) / but my heart can no longer handle potatoes anyway - "thank you", months of transfats+sugar and not eating my daily onion.
  • that tryptophan (we get it largely from carbs; it's needed to make seretonin - a happiness hormone) can go two places, depending on whether you are relaxed/calm OR stressed out/inflamed (source: Dirty Genes book). you need scenario #1 bc #2 ends in creation of some poisonous thing for the brain (quinolinic acid) and carb cravings.
  • that I have ADHD
  • the mechanics of ADHD (e.g., dopamine (the brain's fuel for getting things done) gets eaten away too soon; or that with ADHD you can hyperfocus; hyperreactivity of ADHD brain) - all my big issues over the years started making total sense
  • that in 80% of the cases ADHD is genetic
  • that severity of ADHD symptoms varies - only some people can do OK just with smart nutritional choices + good sleep

2018 (as remembered on May 8, 2019)

  • can't remember!

2017:

  • good news: milk improves my mental abilities almost like dark chocolate used to, but without bad post-effects
  • dark chocolate kills my intuition (or severely decreases my ability to hear its voice) - it's as I lose self-awareness, consciousness too much, it's as if get drunk on caffeine(?)
  • that your body can fix itself or at least make itself much more functional in case of muscle/skeleton issues - just give your body time/space/put on non-restrictive clothes and give your body your full obedience & trust & permission to do what it needs to do to fix itself. (a light version of Spontaneous Qigong happens then). The healing/correction won't happen in one day of course - you need to do those exercise session daily & multiple times a day.
  • how much spine health affects EVERYTHING
  • onions improve mood & increase energy (for 1.5-2h only though), work as a sleeping aid if eaten during the evening meal
  • dark chocolate stopped working for me (i.e. doesn't affect my brain the way it used to)

2016:

  • how debilitating (both in short-term and long-term) menisci & ligament tears (2nd grade) can be
  • that taking Yograj Guggul for 6mo straight can cure "incurable" advanced dry eye syndrome (well, at least in my case).

2014:

  • transfats increase anxiety (I did experience that after eating 50-100g of them a day, and then came across that info in the article citing some scientific studies)
  • I do feel cleaner/lighter when I don't eat wheat stuff
  • lots of health issues can be cured with Ayurvedic stuff - with no side effects!
  • osteoporosis & one's height loss connection
