What happens when someone regresses?

Age regression can look very different! Some people regress to really young ages (infancy) and some to older ages (adolescence).

Most regressors have a "set age" they usually regress to (e.g., someone may always regress between 4 years old and 8 years old).

Some common regressing behaviours include:

  • drawing & using colouring books
  • watching animated shows and films
  • reading children's books
  • playing with dolls, stuffed animals, LEGO, etc.
  • playing pretend
  • cuddling with loved ones

Regressors can have different attitudes. Some regressors are more energetic and like to play. Others may be softer, sensitive and "clingy". Others are more independent.

Finally, the headspace feels different for everyone. Some regressors are able to easily "pull themselves out" of their regressed headspace and back into an adult one, while others need a bit more time.
