• the amber spyglass. i love "his dark materials".

i had a hard time finishing the second book, the subtle knife, because i kept getting distracted by graphic novels like y the last man, but once i focused, i could not stop reading it. for me, this trilogy is better than harry potter. but then that's me.

  • gossip girl fourth book (i forgot the title, too lazy to research) okay laugh if you want but this is my guilty pleasure. the humor is dry and very tongue-in-cheek, and it helps that the girls are very attractive in the series. i have a huge crush on leighton, so that's probably part of why i'm fascinated with the books. it's not something you take seriously, it's very light reading, and okay, it's funny. not in the sedaris or dave barry type though, but more on the haha schaudenfreude yes i am mean way (i dunno if i got that spelling correctly)
  • the book of salt. i love this book. i'm not yet finished, but i couldn't forget the line: "i felt a slight pressure. it was the weight of your eyes resting on my lips. i looked up, and i was seeing myself beside you. i am at sea again. waves are coursing through my veins. i am at sea again."
  • without reservations. it tells of a modern woman's journey, but it reminds me a lot of how much money i lack for a similar type of adventure, so i kept stopping and sighing. maybe when i have money haha i can read it again.
  • ghost by alan lightman. if you read einstein's dreams, you'd know lightman, and you'd know that he is an extraordinary writer. chief gave this book to me for xmas but it's the assurance that it's just there waiting for me lessens the readme urgency. but soon, i promise,
  • i want to finish the hitchiker series. i'm always stuck at the second book. which is weird, because after princess bride the first book is one the funniest books i've read
  • the memory keeper's daughter by kim edwards
  • eat pray love (it was promising at first but i became bored at the pray and love chapters)
  • the last lecture
