gonna try and keep this alphabetical, not sure how well that's gonna work, also this is gonna be long as fuck

  • angel beats: you could take one look at it and be able to give a very good estimate of when it was made, and i'd have to say that it's got all of the charm that 2007-2010 anime has in a nice bundle
  • anohana: very nice anime, pretty popular though and i don't really feel like i need to add to the endless praise
  • another: pretty interesting horror/mystery anime, very extra with the gore and deaths, kinda ridiculous sometimes though
  • blue exorcist: first season was very shounen anime, kinda dumb sometimes? still good, second season is just bad and dumb and everyone's personalities changed and the last season could have not happened and nothing would have changed
  • monogatari (this is going in b because bakemonogatari is the first ok? ok): long ass series, it acknowledges how outrageous it is, and how extra it is a lot of the time, and that really helps it stand out, really funny but can be serious sometimes, definitely worth your time if you have a lot of time
  • erased (boku dake ga inai machi ok? fuck you): super good anime that unfortunately suffered a rushed and kinda not well done ending, but honestly the real ending has something that i really fucking hate about it anyway, definitely worth your time nonetheless, heartwarming and interesting
  • my hero academia (boku no hero academia this is never going to end, alphabetical but only sometimes): good ass series, popular and constantly getting new episodes but somehow still maintains the quality of a show that isn't like that? like wow very good
  • 5 centimeters per second: kimi no na wa but no magic and no miracles and only sadness
  • clannad: very good romance anime, but the second season was kinda bad and dumb, don't @ me
  • danganronpa: don't let the angry gamerz tell you otherwise, this anime is very good and still pretty interesting
  • darling in the franxx: started off as a really interesting fresh take on mecha anime, but then the second half rapidly declined, followed by a short point of "maybe?", followed by maybe my least favourite ending of anything, ever. seriously. ever. i'm not fucking exaggerating i fucking HATE it.
  • death note: everything that i could say about it has been said, that being said, the ending sucked balls and was stupid. nate ruined everything with god-kun omniscience. fuck him.
  • death parade: funky, grim but light, funny, interesting, and really good characters. super good series that not enough people have watched.
  • dennou coil: remember when i said not enough people have watched? wow does this apply to dennou coil. for a 24 episode anime, there's not a single point where it doesn't feel like dennou coil, and it's like WOW what a good fuckin show. why the fuck nobody watchin this?
  • is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon?: what the fuck? good, but also what the fuck is with all the tiddy. also, the name has literally no fucking connection to the plot basically.
  • durarara: pretty angsty but wow it pulls it off so fuckin well. there's a perfect mix of gang shit and weird ass magic that it just fucking works in ways you wouldn't think it would, but it does. one of my favourite anime. good dub too but i heard the last season doesn't have very good, wouldn't know because i was keeping up with the last 2 seasons as they aired
  • eromanga-sensei: comically bad
  • fate/series: overall solid, real talk for a second? even though it was real good, it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me. dub is pretty aight tho for this one.
  • FMA/FMAB: real good, i got some fuckin hot takes for this tho. FMA had a way more interesting premise for homonculi, and had an ending that is more fitting to the theme of the series. FMAB butchered the ending with a "the real equivalent exchange is the friends we made along the way". miss me with that shit. why am i the only person who's angry about that.
  • school-live! (gakkougurashi): a very cute anime about girls living in their clubroom. maybe. it's not actually about that at all but i can't spoil that shit dawg. watch just the first two episodes and you'll understand.
  • children who hear lost voices (hoshi wo ou kodomo): a makoto shinkai movie that isn't really like any of the other movies that he's made, really cool worldbuilding and really neat characters.
  • hyouka: an exceptional slice of life mixed with a few bits of mystery, really good characters and honestly just one of the best slice of life anime out there.
  • jojo: it's fuckin JOJO dawg. first part? meh. second part? this is where it get to the good shit. rock people and fuckign nazis for some reason. third part? pretty good overall, kinda has monster of the week formula tho. FOURTH PART? FUCK OH FUCK YES GOD IT'S SO GOOD this is the best part and all of the characters are so good and the action sequences god damn and the FORESHADOWING GOD DAMN so perfect. watch jojo
  • k (yes it's just fucking k): first season was real solid. really liked all of the goofy characters and the dub is aight as well. second season was fucking stupid and i hate 99% of it.
  • kekkai sensen: the closest genre i could give this would probably be slice of life but then it's so fucking unusual that i can't. really good characters that just have an incredibly well done synergy where just every character has an opinion on everyone else and it shows through really good and even with all of the crazy fucking shit happening constantly everyone is good friends.
  • your name (kimi no na wa): WHAT THE FUCK this movie is so good. literally just thinking about the name makes me want to rewatch it. like holy fuck it's incredible, every single fucking detail of it. i can't think of anything that i don't love about this movie. it looks fucking gorgeous, the plot is solid, the music is like. what the fuck. SO FUCKING GOOD. and the characters are just so good. WATCH THIS MOVIE HOLY SHIT
  • parasyte: nobody talks about this but it's a really solid anime about parasites coming from space and taking over humans and basically fucking killin everyone. real solid nice premise. and wow what an ending, so good
  • kiznaiver: everyone says this is a classic example of trigger fucking up an ending but i liked it, it was good. nobody complains about the rest of the show though i don't think, so overall i give it a fat recommend. i used to watch it every saturday morning after coming home with timmies. good times.
  • koi to uso: a very beautiful snowball at the start that slowly rolls downhill, killing everyone in its path. starts strong, dies painfully. there was a point where when i was starting a new episode i thought i had like accidentally skipped an episode somehow, but no. some characters just talk about important plot things behind your back. it's fine.
  • konosuba: the funniest fucking anime, watch it
  • garden of words (kotonoha no niwa): makoto shinkai is a fuckin mastermind of creating a compelling story wrapped in a beautiful visual bundle. also the teacher? she becomes mitsuha's teacher in kimi no na wa. really cool detail that i didn't even notice until i was looking through the cast and was like holup....
  • kubikiri cycle: a crazy ass mystery anime about a series of beheadings in a mansion on an island with a bunch of geniuses. wow what a fucking ride. honestly don't know how to describe it. also has one of my favourite moments of visual storytelling, like ever.
  • children of the mud whales (kujira no kora wa sajou ni utau): really pretty anime with a really interesting world. not sure what else to say tbh
  • mekakucity actors: really crazy ass anime that was based off of MUSIC VIDEOS out of all things. super genuine characters, really interesting plot, and the soundtrack is a fuckin bop. also, after you finish watching, i STRONGLY recommend watching the different songs that the anime is based off of. the anime helps string everything together, and the songs add a lot of interesting different little details. my favourite story is probably in transparent answer/toumei answer. another thing to note, some of them have videos as well, and kagerou daze/heat haze daze has a fan video that is super good, and the person who made that fan video actually ended up making a whole bunch of the official videos and it's like holy shit that homie made their dreams come true. anyway, great show.
  • future diary (mirai nikki): super angsty but pretty interesting. really enjoyed it, even if it was overly angsty sometimes.
  • seven deadly sins (nanatsu no taizai): overly fanservicey at times but the plot is genuinely interesting and the characters had a lot of interesting backstories, and overall a solid anime.
  • natsume yuujinchou: quickly became one of my favourite anime of all time, incredibly chill, unbelievably genuine and believable characters, a perfect soundtrack, and a really nice plot. watch it
  • nisekoi: first season was solid, second season had actually no plot progression at all. like fucking none. the entire point is unlocking this locket but the locket is absent the entire fucking season.
  • noragami: WHAT THE FUCK it's so good. believable characters in the most unbelievable situations, SUPER interesting plot, incredible soundtrack, and it's so fuckin aesthetic. every op/ed is also really good, and the second season is so fucking good.
  • occultic;nine: part of the science adventure series that steins;gate belongs to, it doesn't really seem to have any connection to the other ones from what i can tell. doesn't make it any less interesting though. the first episode might turn you off because of how fucking ballistically fast it is, like it's definitely not the best episode because it's so fucking fast, but the anime following it is definitely a ride.
  • ouran highschool host club: an incredibly 2006 anime, but holy shit is it ever good. it's hilarious, but when it wants to it can really pull off the big boy serious pants well. the ending is honestly fucking incredible. also the dub? better than the sub. even has an english dubbed opening and ending song that are better than the original japanese. DON'T FUCKING @ ME WEEBS
  • ousama game: an anime that is so fucking bad that it literally made me value every other anime that i thought was the lowest of the low. do not watch this fucking show. i'm not fucking joking. do not watch it. there are no redeeming qualities. the main character is a self insert. i'm not fucking joking. do not watch this.
  • re:zero: isekai anime, but good? it is possible, folks. main character can respawn when he's killed! x3 but he has trauma from when people die still... >w< honestly an incredibly good show.
  • ReLIFE: a super interesting twist on the regular slice of life genre where the main character is going to be the only one who will be able to keep his precious memories on the other side of highschool.
  • robotics;notes: like occultic;nine, everyone said it was mediocre at best. to be honest though, i really liked it. the characters were funny and genuine, and most of the serious moments were pretty interesting. except one, which kinda was just bad and stupid.
  • your lie in april: stunningly beautiful anime about emotions and songs, watch this fuckin show
  • attack on titan (shingeki no kyojin): super fuckin angsty and grim, but still solid. second season was fucking stupid because it took 4 years and they gave 12 episodes and left on a cliffhanger again. fuck you
  • soul eater: i like this more than FMA, fuck you, fight me. super stylish, funny ass characters, and the cheesiness is so incredibly endearing.
  • steins;gate: without a doubt one of the best anime ever made. perfect in basically every sense of the word. perfect pacing, characters, plot, reactions, etc. if you haven't watched steins;gate, you're seriously missing out on one of the best anime ever made.
  • say i love you (sukitte ii na yo): watched it a long time ago, but i remember it being a super solid romance anime. i fucking love romance anime.
  • the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya (suzumiya haruhi no yuuutsu, THREE FUCKIN U'S IT'S CRAZY): THE CRAZIEST FUCKIN PREMISE and they make it work so fucking well. every character is incredibly unique and unbelievably likable, and everything just makes sense no matter how crazy it is. like OF COURSE that's what would happen in this situation, because that's just how that character is. also, one of the best anime movies ever fucking made is the disappearance of haruhi suzumiya. holy fuck.
  • sword art online: honestly i don't even have enough energy to explain why this show is so bad. the premise of the first part is super good. they fuck it up. the rest of the show is just a quick decline into hell. however. hell is fucking hilarious holy shit.
  • tamako market: the best cute girls doing cute things anime that i've ever seen. so fuckin pretty and goofy, and the characters are just so good. and then the movie (tamako love story, you can guess where it differs from market) is just so fucking good. yeah, i added a g to fuckin, that's how fucking good it is.
  • tokyo ghoul: solid first season, angsty though. second season is just not good, and the pacing is actually like if you were to be in a wheelbarrow and you're being dragged along by an 80 year old man that just collapses suddenly a lot on a bumpy gravel road. then the third season is just not fucking good. just shitty fight scenes and WOW IM SO EMOTIONAL THIS CHARACTER WHO GOT LIKE 10 MINUTES OF REAL CHARACTERIZATION DIED :((((((((( i don'tf uckgin CARE holY SHIT fuck off
  • my neighbour totoro (tonari no totoro): i don't have to explain this one
  • vampire knight: my name is girl, and i am friends with vampire and guy who hates vampires, despite being saved by one. they don't get along. also we live at school. i love vampire. also i love guy who hates vampires. they both love me. also, in a dramatic twist, i'm a vampire. also vampire is my brother. also we're in love. but incest is ok because we're vampires. there. now you don't have to watch the show.
  • zetsuen no tempest: an anime based off of a play, but it fucking does it. super consistently good, and the sudden fucking turn into a weird ass slice of life actually works somehow. i don't know how they did it.

holy shit that's a lot of words
