Cathy is a diminutive of the name Catherine. There are a few meanings attributed to the name but the most commonly cited states it's from the Greek καθαρός (katharos) meaning "pure".

For me, Cathy is a spirited little girl with a head full of dark hair and a laugh that lights up any room. She spends her days (mostly) barefoot, exploring her family's sun-dappled farm nestled in the countryside. She loves to chase butterflies, pick "wildflowers" from her mother's garden, and will dance to the sound of any music. She carries a collection of smooth pebbles and snail shells in the pockets of her hand-me-down dresses. Her days are filled with the scent of honey and hay.
