• Watch 24hrs of A Christmas Story EVERY Christmas Eve with my daughter. Or at least as many times as we can.
  • Read a bedtime story to my daughter every night before bed.
  • Take an annual family picture with my daughter.
  • Read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to my daughter every year on Christmas Eve before she goes to sleep.
  • Have my daughter read all the books I read when I was younger that I saved for her (Fudge series, Goosebumps, Fear Street, The Babysitters Club, Nancy Drew, Popcorn, etc.).
  • Have my daughter watch all the old cartoons, shows, and movies I grew up watching as a kid because they were so much better back then (A Pup Named Scooby Doo, Garfield, Tiny Toons, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Goonies, A Christmas Story, etc.)
  • Let my daughter play dress up in my clothes , shoes, and makeup and her do my makeup too. I want her to have a large bin of dress up clothes and accessories.
  • Tell each other every day without fail that we love each other, especially when leaving the house to go about our day and before bed.
  • Take pictures and videos of EVERYTHING, with me and my daughter so we always have those memories.
  • Encourage my daughter to keep a journal every year and never snoop in them. I will save them for her as she grows and give them to her when she is a grown up so she can look back on her memories.
  • Try to go on at least one family vacation a year.
  • Do little art projects with my daughter on the weekends and help nurture her creative side.
  • Encourage my kids to believe in Santa Claus, The Tooth Fairy, The Easter Bunny, etc, for as long as possible. I want to protect her innocence for as long as I can and let her know it's okay to believe in magic.
  • Have my daughter write to Santa Claus every year no matter how old she gets saying what she wants for Christmas so I can save them and give them to her when she is older.
  • Every Christmas Eve give a Christmas Eve present from Santa to me and my daughter which will always be Christmas PJs, a Christmas book, and maybe a stuffed animal or socks.
  • When my daughter is afraid to tell me something, encourage her to write it in a letter to me so that I can read it when she is not around and I can give myself time to calm down before I discuss it with her.
  • Save all the drawings, cards, schoolwork, and gifts my daughter makes for me in storage bins so I can show them to her when she is older.
  • Hang my favorite Christmas ornament Sally at the bottom of my Christmas tree every year and hand it down to my daughter when she starts a family of her own.
  • Create my own Christmas tree ornament every year that will be added to the tree and collection of family ornaments.
