Dedicated especially to a friend who needs it at the moment, but maybe it'll help others, too.
- SOLITUDE.
- Yoga
- Any other physical activity
- Learning something new
- Teaching myself a new song on guitar is a sure confidence booster
- Helping someone out
- Petting cats
- Animal sanctuary work
- Combining two great things that go even better together!
- Confiding in a trusted friend
- Finding joy in little things
- Making a long list of things I love and am grateful for
- Including all those little things
- Finding ways to indulge in some of said things
- Reading
- Fiction or nonfiction, doesn't matter
- Journaling
- It's how I've gotten so good at advising my friends
- Making lists in general
- Listography was basically made for me
- Assloads of tea
- Doing something creative
- Even just shopping my closet for new outfits
- Or playing with makeup
- And again with the guitar and singing
- Pixeling was a good outlet until I stopped because it was just TOO depressing
- Writing prose and the occasional poem or haiku has replaced pixeling as my coping mechanism
- Feeling down? Create the grumpiest, most cynical and spiteful character you can think of, then write something from that character's point of view. I promise, it works wonders
- I really gotta finish writing that book, though. IT'S GONNA HAPPEN despite the fact that she’s become a lot less grumpy/cynical/spiteful and a lot more of a hedonistic, shit-stirring troll… HMMMMMM
- Cleaning and getting rid of stuff I no longer need
- Pretentious people would call it curating my life, I suppose
- Organizing everything neatly
- Baking
- Especially for others
- Even if it looks like shit, it always tastes delicious
- Eating healthy, delicious food
- Meditation
- Though I have a hard time turning off my chattering mind sometimes
- Maybe a guided meditation could help
- Burning incense or scented candles
- Selfies, selfies, selfies
- Catnaps
- Masturbating
