EDS, also known as ehler's danlos syndrome, is a genetic condition affecting many things. there are 13 types of EDS, though i will be talking about hEDS, otherwise known as hypermobile ehler's danlos syndrome. hEDS causes a range of symptoms, including hypermobility of the joints, soft/stretchy skin, joint dislocation, easy bruising, and poor wound healing. there are plenty of other common symptoms, but those are the main ones. some comorbid (frequently co-occurring) disorders are POTS, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, and gastrointestinal/autoimmune disorders. EDS is a rare and incurable disorder. often it requires genetic testing or in the case of hEDS, the presence of all listed criteria for the hypermobile diagnostic criteria. often, hEDS shows up as a kid showing off how "double jointed" and strange their flexibility is.
