• 8 thick slices of (gf) bread (4 slices cut in halves)
    • five spice jackfruit from this mary's test kitchen recipe
    • 2 pink or red apples
    • 2 white or yellow potatoes
    • 1 clove of garlic (more if you like garlic)
    • a dash of nutmeg
    • a dash of cinnamon
    • 1 glass of dry white wine
    • 1 tbsp margarine (any diary free butter, or oil)
    • salt
  • mary's five spice jackfruit was so yuuuuuuuuuum, and i use her method for this snack idea, follow her instructions in order to achieve this crispy and fruity mock meat
  • peel and dice both apples and potatoes, in a pan, heat the margarine and toss the clove of garlic
  • add in the apples, potatoes and wine, let it cook for 10', mixing with the spoon
  • poke with a fork the potatoes, if they are fully cooked, remove the pan from the heat, discard the garlic, add the salt for flavour, the pre-made five spice jackfruit, the nutmeg (i grated mine) and the cinnamon
  • toast the bread slices and spoon on top the jackfruit, apple and potatoe mix
  • 2 halves = 1 serving share the other toasts with someone!
