rich, fudgy brownies with swirls of vegan dulce de leche

  • ingredients
    • 1 cup flour (i used half oat flour, half rice flour)
    • ½ cup dutch cocoa powder
    • 1 cup sugar (i used stevia tday)
    • ½ tsp baking powder
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ½ cup melted coconut oil
    • ¾ cup plant-based milk
    • ½ cup vegan dulce de leche
  • method:
    • whisk together the dry ingredients first, then pour over the wet ingredients - excpt dulche the leche
    • pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly, just at this point drizzle the dulce de leche over the batter swirling it gently with a knife to create a marbled effect
    • bake at 175° for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean (a few fudgy crumbs are fine)
    • before slicing the brownies must be completely cool
  • using bitter cocoa bc dulche de leche is SUPER sweet, the key is balance
