⠀ ⠀ ⠀ not a mother, just a big sister

  • my brother officially entered his...

        TEEN ERA!!

  • i decided to stick with him so he'll not develop any food phobia ♥
  • i wanna let him explore food without restriction or fears

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ a little bit of context:

    • my 14-year old brother is not vegan
    • my 10-year old sister is vegan
    • both food choices are not shameful, my only goal is to educate them to establish a healthy diet that may fulfill their needs
      • in what way?
    • they have been checked by a doctor and we do know how much is their daily intake needs
    • they don't live with me: nathan has his mother while nicole is here in italy by her grandparents'
    • when my siblings eat at mine (which is like everyday after school) they eat plant based because... that's what i have, it's my diet and lifestyle
    • + even if my siblings don't live with me, they live 10 mins from my house, and we see every day - we split sleepover days
    • + i have a sort of agreement with my neighbors' & their kids often stop by mine for lunch and sometimes dinner if their parents still work 'till late
    • ... and they eat a lot of veggies because it's what i have ☺
      • so why won't share how i feed them?
    • sadly when "vegan food" is paired with "kids" people freaks out
      • why? because veganism is "bad" for kids?
    • living in the rich part of the globe i can assure you that we have the means to be healthy humans without animal products, but we live in the ignorance and the whole "culture" issue
      • i lived in between different cultures, and i haven't disrespect none by not eating meat, it's called progress, we don't live in caves anymore, we can bear a little change
    • the whole internet community that has strong anti-vegan bias often writes as article titles' "vegan kids malnourished", pointing their lack of nutrients due to the plant-based diet... but, i haven't seen a single newspaper that claimed a similar situation towards non-vegan kids
    • the most important things is to be aware of what kids do eat in order to get nourished - like: proteins, vitamins (b12, d, a), calcium, iodine, omega-3 fats, iron, zinc, selenium, healthy fats & carbs...
      • woah... so vegans need to check all of this?
      • no dummy, everyone should be aware of what their children eat...
    • ... but sadly my country is still ignorant on nutrition, even tho italy is labelled as the "best food culture country" we do have an obesity rate, and we could just be healthy and not be criticized ("you only live once")
