• In my speech, I will discuss the United States’ extensive reliance on foreign resources. This reliance is unhealthy and is starting to become a major problem for the state of our union and our economy. Our dependence on foreign energy is mainly the root of these problems. The inability of our country to utilize our natural oil reserves to become energy independent is holding us back. In my speech I will discuss the pros and cons of President Obama’s ten year plan for energy independence. I will also highlight the economic and social disadvantages of continuing to need foreign countries to keep our government afloat. • Things I need to know: --to what extent the united states depends on foreign resources --exactly what resources the united states depends on other countries for --benefits of becoming less dependent --disadvantages of remaining dependent on foreign countries • Research I’ve done: --"U.S. EPA.(EMISSIONS & ALTERNATIVES: Covering Fuel Cells and Other Emerging and Alternative Technologies)(The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 )(Brief article)."
