lost my senses of smell/taste with covid; here is a list of how things i have always enjoyed taste now

  • this is a weird one tho bc i tried each component individually and the turnip didn't taste like anything but the carrot tasted like turnip?
• black tea w/ cardamom ✧
• humpty dumpty cheese puff ✧
  • i do not really care one way or another about these when i have intact senses but this was somehow the best thing i've ever tasted lmfao
• "dream-flavored" diet coke ✧
  • currently trying to obtain regular diet coke so i can see if it tastes the same
  • update: regular just ain't the same, apparently it's the "dream flavor" that hits so good when i can't taste things
• ketchup ✧
  • i mean i like ketchup anyway but it was absolutely unreal how good this was
• cheeseburger ✦
  • should probably be in the "nothing" list but the ketchup did a lot of hard work

• kraft singles
  • tastes EXACTLY the same, which is alarming since real cheese had no flavor at all

  • did not actually like these before so i figured i'd take advantage of having no sense of taste and finish off the box, but omg they're good? apparently fake cheese is just the GOAT when you can't taste things

  • the vilest shit i've ever tasted in my life. literally tasted like rotting garbage. like so bad idk if i will be able to put it on sandwiches again when this is all over bc the sense memory is gonna make me gag

nothing

• barbecue potato chips
• everything bagels
• butter
• coffee
• black pepper
  • weirdest one so far because everything at least has a base flavor? like, the chips tasted salty, donair sauce tasted sweet, that kind of thing. but there was no flavor, and no sensation
• candy canes
• hash brown casserole
  • this was SO weird, the texture + tastelessness was like if jello jigglers were made with unflavored gelatin
• caesar salad dressing
• cheddar cheese
• red chili flakes
