• dirty blond (or brown) hair styled with a straight thick fringe that falls over his eyebrows; bushy, flat eyebrows underneath his hair

• oval-shaped face with a prominent chin similar to this, resulting in a "moon profile"
• mahogany hair and sheet white skin covered from head to toe in spider/varicose veins appears in the winter or if in a poor environment
• nerves around the eyes can be visible normally as well

• multiple beauty marks on the face and body (inherited from father's side of the family)

• is pretty normal for the most part - he does normal things and has normal hobbies. he also happens to do a great job at hiding his serious mental health issues, and based on the way he acts, no one would know that there are a few things wrong with him. maybe that first statement was a lie
• probably a little overly nice, but it's for a reason (more on that below)
• has a difficult life and is secretly very sad because of this, but always finds a reason to smile and be grateful
• developed OSDD (type 3) at a young age - struggles with schizoaffective disorder later on in life
• became addicted to haloperidol at 15-ish years old after wanting to treat his illnesses; his drug addiction worsens his issues. he appears to be caught in a loop of desperately wanting to quit (after finding this out) and remaining dependent on it
• witty and never caught without a quip up his sleeve
• wise beyond his years and intimidatingly intelligent; Ashley seems to know more than he should, and has a sense of hidden sagacity to him
• his advice is some of the best out there
• he is severely emotionally abused, and has been since his childhood - he sees the abuse he's subjected to as how not to treat others, which is why ashley is lovely to the people he interacts with. he gives others the love he doesn't receive
• he has a deep fear of abandonment that stems from a few impactful losses and partial neglect - this fear of losing the people he cares about and being completely alone drives him in the majority of his decisions and actions
• "I love children. They're so innocent. I see a little bit of myself in them before my situation. I imagine myself as a child with a better life; the thought is a very calming one. But sometimes, I wish that I retained that innocence. I wish that I had a normal childhood. I wish that things could've been different. But there's no point in wishing when the damage has already been done."

• sobel is how ashley truly is supposed to be
• although he is incredibly avoidant of others and paranoid, he still feels his emotions deeply - even with the differing demeanors and mindsets, sobel is still the same emotional ashley

• born to very young parents sometime around October 30th - October 31st, early 1970s (1971-1972)
• had a fairly normal life regardless of his circumstances
• though his parents were mostly busy with work, they always made time for him whenever they could; ashley considers the time he had with his parents as the happiest he's ever been
• spent 6 years with his paternal family members (mostly with his aunt, as his grandparents were away on a trip back to Cuba) in Beaufort before moving to Fayetteville
• did not blend in well with the other kids after the move, and always wanted to return home. he still remains homesick
