Today, on facebook, a bunch of my friends took a "What house are you in?" test, which resulted in "At least I'm not a Hufflepuff" comments. This reminded me that I'm getting sick and tired of all this crap about it sucking to be a Hufflepuff, hence this list. So if you're on the hating-Hufflepuff bandwagon, I hope this can convince you otherwise.
- They're loyal. I'm starting to get severely annoyed with people not appreciating the awesomeness of loyalty. I'd much rather be considered a good person who'll stand by my friends through thick and thin than someone who cares about my grades more than anything else.
- Helga Hufflpuff was the only founder who was willing to be completely inclusive to people with magical abilities, the rest wanted to basically discriminate. That's not cool.
- They're hard workers. What's wrong with that? Is trying hard bad now? I mean, being a hard worker kind of speaks for itself.
- This ties in with Loyalty, but come the final battle who stayed by Harry the most, other than his own house. Hufflepuff. They'll fight for what they believe in, they stand up for each other.
- The two most well-known hufflepuff; Cedric Diggory and Tonks, both died at the hands of Death Eaters. That's pretty valiant if you ask me.
- Ernie Macmillan, despite being a tad pompous and wearing Potter Stinks badges the year before, is one of the few students who believes Harry's claim in their 5th year that Voldemort has returned. Yes, loyalty again, but it's my strongest argument, so give me a break.
- I know that people think that people in Hufflepuff are asses or something, maybe because Justin Finch-Fletchly is given a bit of attitude in the movies. However, there are people from every house, *cough*McLaggen*cough*, that have horrid characteristics. We don't hate on Ravenclaw because Marietta Edgecombe told on the DA to Umbridge, and that's far worst than being skeptical of Harry, I mean, even Ron was angry at him during GoF.
A couple things that just make being in hufflepuff sound cool...
- Their common area/dorms sound awesome. Tunnels leading to rooms, big comfy chairs and sofas, sounds like a lovely place to be.
- They live RIGHT BY THE KITCHEN- Hello midnight snacks! I mean, you're that close to the house elves, and all the food you can think of. Tell me that doesn't sound appealing.
