For what I received I passed on to you as of first important: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve.”

• What is the word? The gospel. True salvation involves a heartfelt trust in His sacrifice and resurrection, not just the words or prayers spoken. It comes from believing with all your mind, heart and soul that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and God raised Him up on the third day.
