What about October do you love the most? Everything. The sunsets, the layered clothing, the frosty nights, the changing leaves, walking through said leaves, Halloween, pumpkin spice lattes, more blankets on the bed and couch.

Do you believe in ghosts? Ghosts and spirits, yes.

Have you ever carved a pumpkin? What design was it? Yes, I've really only ever done traditional jack-o-lantern faces because I lose motivation to do much else!

You are RL Stine writing a new Goosebumps novel. What do you write about? The weird dystopian universe of the UK right now idk.

What is the most haunting thing you have ever seen in your lifetime? The way my dad's eyes looked just before death. Like his soul had already left.

What gives you goosebumps in general? Music, raw natural beauty, getting that first glimpse of huge mountains or the ocean.

Are there other Fall colours you like to decorate with other than orange? Red, yellow, bronze and gold! I don't even normally LIKE warm colours!

Have you ever written a ghost story? What was the title? I don't even know if this COUNTS per se but I wrote a spooky horror story for National Novel Writing Month 2009. It was called Blood Eclipse.

Did you ever have an imaginary friend as a child? I didn't really have any real friends so I had MANY imaginary ones!

Have you ever seen a door or something else move on its own? Where? Spooky things used to happen in the first house we had in Virginia. Once, I was sitting in my bedroom on a cold winter day. No windows open, so no breezes or weird pressure changes as the house was quite airtight. Ma and Dad chilling in the living room. My cat was asleep next to me. The door to the bathroom next to my bedroom suddenly swung shut and SLAMMED so loudly the walls shook, startling me, the cat, and Ma and Dad.

Another thing that would happen - my acoustic guitar would get one string plucked at a time on some summer mornings. I'd sit there and listen to it for a while.

I also always had a SEVERE dread of being left alone in that house. Like almost terrified. This has never been this way anywhere else I've lived since!

Do you believe in an afterlife? Of some description, yes.

What is your favourite autumn scent of all time? A combination of the soft, dry, almost spicy scent of fallen leaves mixed with chilly rainy air and a roaring bonfire!

Have you ever been to a corn maze? POSSIBLY when I was a small child - I have a brief memory of being at some family fall fair so there might've been one!

What autumn memories haven't been the best? I try not to dwell on bad memories but...

  • Dad having a massive, life-altering stroke in October 1997
  • Ma dying in November 2012
  • All the crap happening in October 2016 to make me permanently lose my best friends while I was having breakdowns waiting for my UK visa to come through. :(

What are you upset about this month and how do you plan to fix it? I've been in a terrible cycle of severe depression and dangerous urges again because I feel like nothing I do and no part of me is likeable in any way. I have no idea how to fix it.

Is there a journal you love to use most above all others? Why? Not really, I haven't actively journaled in years.

What helps calm your soul when you're anxious? Lying down in our dimly lit, cozy, warm bedroom with the fan on - and also husband hugs/pep talks.

Do you enjoy pumpkin spice flavoured beverages? Yup!!

What purchase have you made recently that you don't regret at all? A little smart watch.

Recall the last time you fell asleep by a warm fire. Were your dreams happy? I've rested by the fire, but I haven't slept!

Do you think magic is real? I think a lot of things are real, whether it's the unseen or the power in what we manifest.

What is one way you've been good to yourself this week? The only thing I can think of is that I've made sure to drink water every day. The rest hasn't been good but I hope that changes soon.

What are you most afraid of? It could be big or little things. Sometimes it's being out in public/wide open spaces. Sometimes it's people judging me or not liking me. Two of my constant BIG fears are fire and being in water where my feet can't fully touch the bottom. I also fear being touched by strangers, made to react in ways I can't control, and heights. Lol

 Scariest movie you've ever seen?

What colour leaves do you love the most?

Do you like to drink hot apple cider?

What do you remember about the autumn season as a child?

What book recommendations do you have for Fall?

 What's your favourite candy?
