• smolive (spain is top olive producer lol)
• armarouge (armarouge’s color palette matches spain’s red and yellow scheme, and it also reminds me of spain’s medieval past. More specifically one of the most powerful entities in spanish history is the Crown of castile. The shape of armarouge’s armor also looks a castle to me even though it is a cannon… i think?)
• ceruledge (similar to armarouge, but the color palette doesn’t really match jajje. This pokemon is dedicated to fighting but has a more swift fighting style and it looks to have less armory than armarouge. This is quite similar to the almogavars that served the many kingdoms of medieval spain, though they originally came from the crown of Aragon. They’re known for their lifelong dedication to war and fighting in the front with only light arm and baggage)
• snorlax (not much to this, i just think its cute to imagine spain and snorlax sleeping under a tree or any other inconvenient places. This pokemon is like a portable bed xdd??)
• oricorio, baile (the name of the variant baile, means dance in spanish. In spain a very popular dance is flamenco, but i got mixed search results saying this variant is based on spanish flamenco and others based on baile folklórico from mexico. Both dresses in those dances have very flowy and layered look to it inspiring baile oricorio’s design. While Im not sure if its flamenco or baile folklorico, i still think this bird resonates with spain’s rich dancing culture)
• nacli (nacli is a salt rock… I think thats what it is ♥︎ It’s a pokemon that has existed in paldea since ancient times. There is also one the oldest salt valleys in the real world which is in Añana of Basque region. It dates from 7000+ years ago or the neolithic period, which if it is based on that that would actually be so cool…)
• spectrier (visigoths, will fill in later)

I think Spain would just be a normal civilian… maybe those people who sell things at a market?? I dont know what you call them in english (seller/trader i think. But it sounds awkward). He would probably sell fish or vegetables or literally whatever he harvests

I don’t think these pokemon would be used in battle though (except for maybe armarouge and ceruledge) but of course I’ll always be adding on to this later on
