• ✅mononoke: the movie trilogy (the anime was my absolute favorite 1 for the unique animation style and 2 because it touches realistic struggles and themes and the artistic depiction of it just feels so personal/comforting. Im really looking forward to the 3rd movie)

• ✅godzilla minus one (i dont really watch movies like this well solely because godzilla looks so unserious to me but its presentation of war and the trauma for the survivors feels so realistic. The acting is a bit choppy in some parts but i still think its pretty great.)

• ✅My God, My God, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me? (I like the atmosphere of the whole movie, its sorta scary in a lonely kind of way)
• ✅viva la muerte (honestly, this movie is very uncomfortable and VERY graphic especially near the end. Its hard to understand the plot at all especially if you dont have background knowledge on the war and religious references/practices. So i don’t recommend watching if its just for the plot, its just a bunch gruesome symbolic things put together. From my understanding, I do think this greatly presents how crazy going through a civil war can turn you into , and in this movie is set in the spanish civil war where people were also torn by religion. The main character’s experience is very sad to me.)
• ✅all about lily chou chou
• ✅officer black belt (this movie had me screaming for my life 😭 this is about a martial artist that takes down bad guys basically but mostly rapists/child predators and dont worry iirc it doesnt actually show sex scenes but it does get very violent and uncomfortable + reason why i was screaming. The main character does bring the victims to justice and to me this movie really reflects the reality and trauma upon experiencing such things.)
