- Indianola Review - http://theindianolareview.com/submit.html - 5,000 words maximum (a little over is fine, but those extra words should be critical to the piece. And by "a little over" we mean a hundred or so at most). We want original, unpredictable fiction with vivid characters that experience conflict throughout a purposeful, precisely wrought plot. If you decide to break this rule and you do it well, we want that even more. For flash fiction, please submit up to 3 pieces (no more than 1,000 words each) in the same Word document.
- Literary Juice - Fiction: We have recently merged the flash fiction and fiction categories. Stories should be written between 100 and 1,500 words. All genres are welcome! If you're proud of it, send it in! If you hate it, send it in! Just be sure to include the word count in the top right corner of your manuscript.
