• Punch Drunk Love (Paul Thomas Anderson, 2002): Enjoyable mostly because I was so surprised at Adam Sandler not playing an Adam Sandler character. Occasionally too symbolic for my taste. Female characters not well developed. Great cinematography and satisfying plotline.
  • The Dark Knight Rises (Christopher Nolan, 2012): I don't think I will ever get sick of this movie. Gripping, emotional, and satisfying as an end to the trilogy. Bane is a fantastic villain - certainly comparable to Heath Ledger's The Joker. Crossing my fingers for Joseph Gordon Levitt to make a compelling Robin in a new movie series.
  • Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino, 1994): Finally understands why this movie has a cult following. Tarantino's taste for violence is still something I need to get used to - some squeamish scenes, for sure. Love how the different plotlines came together. The lack of sequential order was bizarre but I liked the effect. Uma Thurman is, as always, fantastic.
  • The Big Lebowski (Coen Brothers, 1998): Bizarre, to say the least. Certainly entertaining due to the strange plotline and idiocy of the characters. Female characters were stunted in development, which is always disappointing. Not a fan of the framed narrative - it didn't add anything to the movie. I think I would watch this again.
