- 10.1 - Drive from LA to Las Vegas. I was sick with something weird, slept most the way. Stopped in a ridiculous rest area outside of LV, same as cross country road trip in 01' with Jack. Stayed at the Palms, saw Let Me In, then saw Sonic Youth - terrible.
- 10.2 - Took an amazing bath in our luxury suite. Walked the strip. Took a nap. Saw Perfume Genius (good) and Cat Power (boring).
- 10.3 - Drove an amazingly beautiful drive from LV to Zion. Drove from Zion to North Rim of Grand Canyon, so amazing! Drove to South Rim and slept in the car. Woke in the night to a crazy lighting storm.
- 10.4 - Woke up early, saw the South Rim. Drove to Sedona, then Jerome. Arrived at Richard's Dad's house in afternoon. Played Mexican Train and ate lasagna.
- 10.5 - Ate breakfast and coffee on the patio. Drove to Carefree and walked around Frontier Town. Drove to CaveCreek and ate at Harold's Corral, huge rain and hail storm. Played Mexican Train, ate mexican food at Jalapeno Inferno, drank margaritas, played Mexican Train.
- 10.6 - Ate breakfast on the patio then went hiking at McDowell Mountain Park. Came home and ate lunch, went to see a 560 ft fountain in Fountain Hills. Took a nap, played Mexican Train and ate dinner at home.
- 10.7 - Drove to the airport to drop off the carr, Richard's Dad picked us up there. Went home to pack our things, ate lunch on the patio, drove to Downtown Phoenix to go to the Heard Museum. Flew from Phoenix to Seattle, Kelly picked us up from the airport and we went to Pony for a few drinks, then went to his house and went to bed.
- 10.8 - Walked from Kelly's to get coffee and doughnuts at Top Pot on our way to pick up the car at Avis Downtown. Drove back to Kelly's to pick up stuff and drink more coffee. Started the first leg of our roadtrip, stopped at the Snoqualmie Falls (from Twin Peaks), richard got a speeding ticket (bullshit!), stopped at a fruit stand for apples (apple season is so good!), stopped at Leavenworth. Made it to Wenachee to see Tana and Richard's Mom at Paula's. Had Mexican for dinner in East Wenachee.
- 10.9 - Woke up to Riggin jumping on our bed from the top of the cellar stairs. Went for a run through the apple orchard and up to the ridge. Drove to downtown Wenachee and shopped for outdoors equipment and food for road trip. Got coffee at Hastings Book Store. Went to Kim's baby shower. Pillow case full of baby clothes and Mr. Patato Head presents! Went to after party at Kim and Oliver's cute little house. Ate, drank, and party'd with two really cool lesbians that had a brand new Airstream, SO COOL!
- 10.10 - Started driving south through Washington, so beautiful! Stopped to make Ramen at the Stonehenge sculpture in Maryhill. Went to Maryhill Museum. Crossed the river to Oregon. Kept driving south to Crater Lake. Arrived at 10 pm, set up the tent and went to sleep. Coldest night ever!
- 10.11 - Woke up to ice on our tent. Packed up camp and started the drive around Crater Lake. Stopping at lookout points and went on a few small hikes. At the Lodge went on a two hour hike to a peak on the rim of the crater. Drove around to the other side of the lake and went on a hike down to the edge of the water. Left the park and drove to Redding. Stayed at an RV park.
- 10.12 - Took an amazing shower!!! Drove to Yosemity. Got in late and stayed in a nice tent with electricity and a bed.
- 10.13 - Woke up to women screaming "BEAR! GO AWAY BEAR!". Went to Camp 4 to get a tent space. Hiked Upper Yosemity Falls. Set up camp. Ate Ramen for lunch. Walked 3 mi to trainhead, hiked the 7 mi Mist Trail to Nevada and Vernal Falls.
- 10.14 - Woke up to more shouts at bears, poked head out of tent to see a huge brown bear running by and a bunch of hippie-climbers chasing after it. Drove to Glacier Point. Drove to historic village and inn, took shuttle to Seqoia Grove and hiked 6 mi back. Showered. After dark drove to look out at the tunnel but a huge spotlight was on for roadwork. Drove back to the Valley and layed on the hood of the car and watched the stars in a deserted meadow. Saw a lot of shooting stars.
- 10.15 - Woke up at 6 to drive to San Fran. Saw road covered by landslide. Drove through disgusting and stinky town of Turlock. Arrived in SF and drove to GGB but we could not see it because of fog. Walked around Fisherman's Warf. Drove to the Castro, walked to the Mission, texted Lisa for the best burrito ever. Drove to the Haight, got coffee and walked around. Drove to airport to pick up Kelly then to Mary's and hung out for a while. Ate Thai for dinner. Went to the Stud, Mary made a shrunken apple head. Went to the Eagle for one drink. Went back to the Stud for a drag show (pizza). Took Homobiles, stopped for doughunts on the way home. Watched Youtube until 4 am.
- 10.16 - Mary made a huge brunch when we woke up. Walked through the GG Park to the Haight where we found the Coloring Book of Mormon. Got a drink at Zam Zam. Got coffee with cardomom at Oasis Cafe and walked to Alamo Square to see the Painted Ladies. A sign was posted in one of them that said "this is NOT Full House". Made our way to Chinatown. Ate a Chinese sesame ball. Bought Whoopy Cusion at a joke store. Had a lot of fun lighting sparklers on the street with a cute little boy. Went to little Italy and had a lot of fun with the Mormon Coloring book. Headed to the Castro. Had a drink and fun with Whoopy Cusion at Midnight Sunset. Went to another bar across the street and played Ohh-la-la with porno card deck, Mary was dared to ask the bar tender for his number, he said he had a boyfriend. Danced with the coloring book at Sadlands (Badlands) and played Feeling Without Touching. Ate at a diner, Mary ordered desert fries. Took Homobiles home. Watched Youtube until 4 am.
- 10.17 - Drove to get vegan Vietnamese food at Golden Era. Met up with Kelly's friend Michael. Went to a Halloween store. Drove to get Blue Bottle coffee where we had fun with the Whoopy Cusion while standing in line and we met Rusty. Played Ohh-La-La with porn cards with Rusty on the street. Scared a little girl on the street with the Whoopy Cusion. Dropped off Mary's friends car downtown. Went to Trader Joes to get food for dinner. Made a huge dinner at Mary's and watched Youtube.
- 10.18 - Mary made breakfast and read our Tarot's. Said goodbye and started driving up the coast on Highway 1. I got sick so Richard drove once we were outside of the city. Stopped along the way a lot for photos. Made it to the Rewoods after driving through 22 miles of the curviest road I've ever been on, got sick. Stayed at Sherwood Forrest Inn in Garberville, gross.
- 10.19 - Drove to the Redwoods. Did scenic drive (Avenue of Giants). Set up tent in free (tick infested) campsite. Hiked Infinity Falls. Saw some Elk. Watched Sunset over fogged in ocean.
- 10.20 - Woke early and drove all day to Seaside. Stopped along the way for photos.
