• 2017 Horror directed by Jordan Peele
  • 9/10 Felt like it ended way too quick when stuff started getting weird. Rod ex Machina being handwaved with "TSA knows shit" was kinda dumb, though funny.
  • U N C O M F O R T A B L E
  • Rose's dad's performative progressiveness kind of reminded me my partner's dad trying to explain why he's not racist
  • Lots of small funny bits of dialogue here and there, more than I expected from a horror movie
  • Every moment with Rod on screen was a blessing
  • Rose's emotional tone with the blank face when she was talking to Rod made my skin crawl
  • Chris turned into the fucking terminator at the end I love him
  • At no point did I know what was coming next. Went from thinking people were being ...

  • 2026 Horror directed by Curry Barker
  • Genuine 10/10
  • Very different from other horror movies, extremely unnerving on first watch and extremely uncomfortable on second.
  • The backwards walk is one of the single most horrifying things I've ever seen, that shit activated my fight or flight response.
  • Incredibly shot, loved how often Nikki's face was obscured in shadow or entirely out of frame or behind something.
  • Makes me mildly uncomfortable how much Nikki's behaviors feel like mine cranked up to 11
  • The more I think about it the more I hate Bear
  • Fuck you, Bear

  • 2026 Horror directed by Kane Parsons
  • Biased 10/10 because I love liminal spaces
  • The backrooms, I said your favorite word. The backrooms, jingle jangle dingle dangle-
  • Literally just the Youtube series with way more budget, save for a much reduced focus on Async
  • Never really that scary, except when therapist lady is tied up in the chair.
  • Super cool environments, a lot of it was done with practical sets and it's all suitably incomprehensible.
  • Genuinely wanna find a reason to gripe about it but i don't think I would've wanted or expected anything else from a liminal space movie.
  • I AM A FUCKING ARCHITECT
