18 year old Luka Todorović has never been in love, and doesn't plan on it. He's never been in a relationship thanks to his awkwardness and shyness in school, and he doesn’t want to if it means being the laughing stock of his grade. All he only wants to keep his head down, make his parents proud and start college strong with his close friends. However, Luka and his little sister Sofija are in for a ride; his mom Svetlana, & Dad Branko, announce that they want to move from the USA back home to Serbia. The only catch? Luka & Sofija barley have any Serbian friends over there or here for that matter. When Luka finds himself living in Valjevo instead of just being there for summer vacations, he's in for a ride as he experiences how the small, Eastern European country, his parents grew up in really is. Serbia seems fun and lively during summer vacations, but living there is more difficult than Luka would've ever imagined; many people are struggling to find jobs, the president isn't the best he could be, and the people there seem to only see Luka as one thing, an American who doesn't know what's it like to be Serbian in this day and age. The thing is, Luka gets being Serbian - he speaks the language, knows the culture and traditions, and tries to visit back home every summer; but that isn't enough to make him the same as a group of kids his age who single him out. He's American, and the clash between a Serbian-American who can't begin to understand his fellow Serbs struggles is bound to happen. He even meets a strange girl, Milena "Mila", whom seems to be interested in him; but Luka is already sick of her. Will this new move end up with Luka yelling "Muka mi je", or will he be in for the time of his life?

- Luka Todorović; 18. Oldest of 2 kids. Serbian-American, 1st generation child of immigrants from Serbia. Serious and shy, tries to act tough, but he's a softie inside. Tries to look at things with a positive outlook. Religious, hard working, tries to do the best by his parents and sister. Can be very stubborn when doing things. Can be reserved, put up walls, and be cold if he doesn't know a person well or is hurt by something. Is pretty patient and determined to do things, even if it kills him.
- Sofija Todorović; 14. Youngest of 2 kids, Serbian-American. Impatient.
