- hye rin is attached to taemin and eventually likes him because he has unprecedented access to provigil and she needs that medication to stay focused in class
- in the foreword, there is a vignette of jongin coming back to the dorm all beaten up. he is beaten up by taemin's 'drug dealer' after jongin is accidentally thrown into the mix. he was supposed to meet up with hye rin but found out about her drug dealing business and she and taemin run away as the drug dealer chases after them, he mistakes jongin as taemin and beats him up
- so kyo is actually hye rin's half-sister; she is the illegitimate daughter of hye rin's father, but no one knows this except for hye rin's dad.
