- based off of westworld
- AI-based population created to understand where morality comes from - thought experiment from government
- just so they can understand how injustices work
- systematic oppression because of socially evolved prejudices?
- or biology creates division? such as division of labor based on male/female body
- no interference from the creators, except for the beginning and creation of AI beings
- first experiment failed, so more tweaking is needed
- beyond the base desires, they included language and community living
- implementation of results into the real world is tricky, unless laws were created to reveal the truth so that its universally accepted
- regular humans may come in and observe both backstage and on the ground so that they know nothing is rigged
- but what is the main plot? AI beings rebelling against their creators? too overdone
- it turns out that the morality is actually sadistic and everything is turned upside down (pain is chosen over joy, hatred over love, etc) and humans must accept it
- like Nietzsche Geneology of Morals and MacIntyre's After Virtue
- but they have to unlock a special 'code' to put morality back into its place prior to the experiment
- but then this just assumes that morality is indeed man made
- but its necessary if we're interacting with other agents - as noted by an isolate experiment where one lives in a remote place
- long convoluted logic puzzle that favors the 'good' over 'bad' and the 'right' over 'wrong'
- epistemology must be included to understand how the AI beings value certain concepts over others (i.e. love vs hatred, pain vs. joy)
