after trying numerous gacha games over the past 10 years - including platinum-ing Tribe Nine on Steam, 50+ hours of Wuwa (i think i spend way more time in Genshin too because i used to have a full level 60 account), chasing after real difficulty in a gacha game is a fool's errand. characters have completely preset abilities. they have best in slot equipments and weapons. you can look up flow-charts that tell you how to get the most points in a fight or get the top ranks in PvP. creative thinking and player agency cannot truly exist in a game that does not let you mix and match the pieces or "create" any strategy of your own. I think the only exception to this is Tribe Nine because its literally a souls-like game where player skill greatly matters than equipment stats.
i think we should start selling jigsaw puzzles where you have to pay money to get all the pieces AND auto-grind for weeks for a chance to put them in the place the game tells you to put them
and now to me has becoming increasingly evident that the fact that modern gacha games nowadays are made just to produce good looking characters with a sub-par story that doesn't really contribute much to the character's personality and backstory
