Northern Ireland divided loyalties

  • the difference in political beliefs is one of the main factor for the conflict between the protestants and catholics.
  • the protestants sees themselves as british and wish to see their country to remain as part of the United Kingdom .
  • they do not wish to reunit with the republic of ireland because they fear that the catholic government may not be tolerant of their protestants beliefs.
  • on the other hand , the catholics sees themselves as Irish and wish to reunit with the republic of ireland . moreover , in the past , in the history of english conquest the catholics were either treated harshly or killed .
  • therefore the difference in loyalty and political beliefs has made the protestants and catholics intolerant of each other , they found it difficult to get along with each other , thus , leading to conflict ...

this is just my revision for my examinations ... if it sort of offense you , please leave a comment to let me know . thank you . wish me luck for my examinations . i will be very happy .
