- likely learned about it through other rpgm titles in general. probably some utdr crossovers/comparisons here and there because that's just how it is
- played the freeware release december 22nd, 2021
- started a bit of the steam release january 9th, 2022, then came back to finish it march 19th, playing through solstice march 21st.
- general thoughts: i'm still biased from having finished it more recently, but i fell in love with the game a lot. it has a beautiful atmosphere and got me to care a lot about its protagonist and the world around them. solstice's themes in particular have stuck with me; i enjoyed the story-approach to playing it, how it differs from the original runthrough, and how it all ends. i really needed a happier ending to media, and it certainly came through.
- would i recommend it? for sure! it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're able to get invested, you'll likely love it. if you need a taste of the full game, the freeware version is still on rpgmaker's website. the devs have stated that those who deal with paranoia may wish to take caution, but oneshot is not a horror game.
