- 2.8. Lately every time I talk to him, I end up feeling bad. Long distance = doesn't work.
- 3.8. I spent last autumn and winter looking for the perfect brown boots with hooks and no zipper, and now when I'm looking for new ballerinas I find them. They are perfect. (also no need for new ballerinas as I got my old ones fixed for so cheap - I'm glad because they're perfect too)

- 10.8. Reading Tove Jansson's Muumipappa ja meri for the first time in years, it's lovely.
- 16.8. M came to Finland for a week, seeing him after two and a half months was weird but wonderful.
- 23.8. Back to Dundee with M, going back was so much easier without having to be alone.
- 29.8. Most of the last days of August went by uneventfully as M was working and no one else was back yet. Sarah finally arrived, it was lovely seeing her.
