I've almost always had a fascination with anthropomorphic animals. Ever since I saw Brother Bear then later Mew Mew Power, I also had the fascination of transforming into an animal. I believe these two aspects are intertwined.

My first anthro character I created was Bluebear, a tiny blue teddy bear, who was based on a real toy that I had since I was 5 years old. He was an explorer who travelled into the human realm and subsequently would have misadventures. Another significant anthro character I created was Fousa the sunglasses-wearing puma. He was my imaginary friend when I was 11. He was based on the depiction of the fossa in the movie Madagascar (who smol me believed were strange cats at the time). He was a chill guy who always liked to hang with me.

I created my first fursona when I was about 12. She was a feral dragon-bear hybrid. I would keep this fursona until I was 15. When I was 15, I came across a video by Dorkly called "Mario is a furry", which introduced me to the term. Somehow, despite the video presenting a rather unfavourable depiction of furries, I was more excited to learn about furries than anything else. When I changed my fursona, I adopted a more anthropomorphic-looking dragon-bear as one.

My fursona would change another two times before settling on one final form: an eldritch dropbear. I created said dropbear when I was about 18. Fours years later, I would find myself in the middle of university still completely burnt out from school and struggling immensely with gender dysphoria, undiagnosed autism and anxiety. I would create a new fursona, this time to a grotesque mutant human. This fursona would become my coping mechanism for whenever I dissociated badly, because I would imagine myself being forcibly transformed into them. They became a symbol a resilience.

After a while, when I started to finally get help for my problems, I no longer felt monstrous and dissociated. So, when I was 25, I changed my fursona once more, transforming them from a grotesque human to a small fluffy monkey.

I have also made more fursonas on the side, particularly within the last 3 years. That's not to mention all of the anthro characters in my paracosm that I've had since I was 13! What can I say? I like creating characters!
