I'll keep this short and sweet!

Disclaimer:

Mutuals only, 18+, selective, and private interpretation of CARMILLA from the 1872 novella of the same name by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. I'm obviously not the author and this is only my PERSONAL VIEW AND CHARACTERIZATION of Carmilla.

If you're inactive for several months, I'll unfollow. I'll refollow if you become active again.

Rules:

I. LENGTH. Any thread length works for me. Matching length is not a requirement, but I tend to match length.

II. STYLE. I will not read incomprehensible writing. That's what I do for uni, this is for fun.

III. CUTTING POSTS. I cut posts and I would like you to do so as well (this is kinda what everyone on here does but I wanted to mention it).

Biography

NOTE: For brevity's sake, I will refer to Mircalla Karnstein as 'Carmilla' since it is what she is called for the majority of the original novella and is the name she primarily goes by.

CHILDHOOD

Countess Mircalla Karnstein (Carmilla) was born in approx. 1680 in Styria, a duchy of Austria on the Hungarian border. She comes from a respectable, aristocratic family. She grew up in the care of her mother. Her father was a man known for cruelty, especially to those socially and/or economically below him. Carmilla was at least somewhat aware of his tendency for rage and violence as she mirrored it upon occasion.

Overall, she had a relatively normal childhood marked by no strange events or foreboding omens. Austria's conflict with the Ottoman Empire didn't affect her because...
