Just when he thought he had finally managed to save Mikey, Takemichi finds himself in the worst possible future. A future without Mikey. He then decides to try everything to prevent him from committing something irremediable, a last return, a last hope for which he is ready to risk everything, even his own life. Because a future without Mikey is like no future at all.

Despite all his efforts, Mikey must face the truth: no matter how hard he tries, no matter what future he looks into, he always ends up being swallowed up by his own demons, becoming a threat not only to himself, but especially to those he cares about. But just as he is about to end it all, Takemichi stands before him one last time, ready to do anything to stop him.

For both of them, this is the last chance journey. Last chance to live, last chance to heal.

And along the way, maybe they will find something else. Growth, peace, salvation. And even love.

“Thanks for punching Chifuyu,” he mumbles sleepily. “You made me a new friend.”

Kazutora is silent as Keisuke’s breathing evens out and turns into hushed snores. There’s a sense of discontent laying thick through his limbs and he fights against it to sleep, but gives up as the bedside clock turns from one to two to three. He doesn’t know how much he believes in things like omens, but he can’t imagine Keisuke being right, despite how well the evening had gone.

There’s no way a friendship can bloom from a fist.
