• the regulars, who come in every day and make small-talk with the staff, whether they enjoy it or not.
  • the hawk: swoops in with purpose, stone-faced, to find a very specific book or item. Getting in this customer's way is not recommended
  • the jokester guy who points out every novelty item in the store to his friends (whom he is desperately tying to impress) and laughs hysterically
  • the price critic: usually female, walks around making comments about how things are too expensive and she could get the same item at t.j. maxx for $5. hypocritically, these customers often want only fair-trade, high quality and/or made-in-america products.
  • the bookstore purist: comes in and makes comments about how we carry fewer books (not true) and should not carry anything but books.
