- okay for context i literally dont know anything abt star trek. funny aliens in space. spock..... weird hand signal thingy
- this show got a lot of show for being 1. a reboot (?) of an old franchise and 2. for the art style,, and i totally understand both. the art style is definitely not my fav but once you see it in motion it gets a little better,, the riggings pretty good and sometimes this show rly impresses me with its visual effects and action scenes.. no spoilers but especially in the movie episode, im sure they had a lot of fun with the composition and the shading / special effects
- the characters can feel kind of.. samey? they're all definitely distinct from one another but they all have this level of goofiness to them which kind of ruins their personalities just a liiiitttle bit.
- i unfortunately got pretty attached to these characters though GHKAJGHJKFDG like FUCK i lowkey see a lot of myself in boimler and i like the 4 main characters dynamics (even though it rly felt like rutherford and tendi were more side characters.. but it seems like the creator has mentioned that and stated there will be more focus on them in the 2nd season which is good)
- some of the writing is a little predictable and silly most of the times but the plot in the last 2 episodes GOT me. i was rly hooked into the drama and action and i rly wasnt expecting that from a show like this
- im sure theres a ton of references i didnt get just bc im not a star trek fan.. but its still pretty accessible to new people i think,, theres definitely jokes for star trek fans in there but not all the jokes are like that
- no spoilers but its also pretty nice that they acknowledge the leaders and how shitty they can be,, damn the man
- umm idk what else to say.. i liked it!! it was pretty fun!! i dont think it was anything REVOLUTIONARY but i had a fun time!!
- idk how actual star trek fans feel abt it.. it reminds me of people comparing the original teen titans to teen titans go and how ttg is automatically worse bc its a different format and a comedy... IM NOT SAYING TTG IS GOOD its not for me personally but theyre 2 completely different shows.. if star trek fans want something super serious and nerdy i guess watch the other shows?? yall got like 15 other star trek shows
