To counter-balance my list entitled "Old Lady Habits", this list chronicles my more child-like qualities:
- I love cartoons. No, really. I love cartoons. I will watch them over almost anything.
- I still think pigtails are fantastic and wear them to this day.
- I feel most comfortable in a t-shirt and jeans. Over more tailored, "grown-up" attire any day of the week.
- Getting dirty is evidence of having fun. If there's dirt on my shoes and under my fingernails, chances are I had a good time getting it there.
- I am a Disney fanatic. The movies, the parks, the artwork, the imagineering, all of it!
- I love Harry Potter more than any sane person should. Disclaimer: I personally don't find Harry Potter to be childish but many people, mostly those who have not read the books, do...so I decided to include it here!
- I think games of make-believe are an important and dying art. I think one of the greatest tragedies of many adult lives is the loss of imagination and I am very grateful to still have mine going strong.
- Climbing trees is still a favorite pastime.
- The sight of a fresh pack of crayons or markers still delights me. Give me a blank sheet of paper and a writing utensil and I will be out of your hair.
- Holidays are still a source of enchantment and excitement for me. Rather than stressful and tiresome as they seem to become for many adults.
- Theme parks and roller coasters and carousels, oh my!
- I have an extreme aversion to and general confusion regarding bureaucracy in any form. Paperwork, formalities, bills, credit scores, blah, blah, blah.
- In appearance: I am rather short and small in frame and have a quite young-looking face. I most often get mistaken for a 16-18 year old. When telling someone recently that I had just graduated, they thought I was referring to high school instead of college. A blessing and a curse.
- A day spent at the park is a day spent perfectly. Swinging and pumping my legs so hard, I'm still convinced that, somehow, I'm going over the top!
