• Finished work at the kennel. Bittersweet.
  • Completely moved into our new town house. I can't believe how big it is. I feel like we found the steal of a lifetime and any minute now it's going to be taken away. Alex's parents have done/are doing SO much to help us move in. They got us a washer and dryer, helped us move everything until 1 in the morning, got us towels, a vacuum, etc. etc. Pure craziness! I am undeserving.
  • Saw Get him to the Greek. Had a few pretty serious parts that I wasn't expecting but still very funny.
  • Saw the Karate Kid remake at the new Muvico theater. The theater was SO nice! There were chandeliers and old black and white photos of classic movie stars. And the movie was really good too. Actually really inspiring. It was Alex's choice for our movie night and I was expecting it to be cheesy but it was great!
  • Went to Alum Springs Park with Alex for the first time. I can't believe I've never been there. This little natural reprieve right in the middle of a very busy area. It poured on us and Alex got bit by a spider pretty bad but I can't wait to go back when we're better equipped so we can swim!
  • Visited with Tiffany a bit when she came to get her last Mimi's paycheck. And she came and saw my new house too! I was surprised that she put forth the effort. I don't see my foster sisters as much as I'd like and our relationship isn't as strong as I want it to be but when we do see eachother, there is not the awkward tension there used to be.
  • Interviewed for a position with the Fredericksburg Animal Hospital. Fingers crossed!
  • Had a second, three hour long work interview with the Fredericksburg Animal Hospital. Double fingers crossed!
  • The Fredericksburg Animal Hospital called back a third time. They want to do ANOTHER interview but now I have an interview with the SPCA and I am not sure I want to be dragged along by the animal hospital anymore.
  • Hung out with Allison, Claire, Katie Q, Kelly O, Katie Z, etc. at Q's house for the first time in YEARS. It was just like old times. They all looked the same and it was easy to pick back up where we left off. Yay for making progress and being social!
  • Got the job with the SPCA! Yes! I feel like this is a better fit than the animal hospital because I will be helping animals that truly need it.
  • Visited Alex's mom, dad and brother down in Newport News for an early Father's Day celebration. I was very tired and irritable and Alex and I were snippy with each other alot. Ugh. I HATE that. HATE. I know it's normal and healthy but I always feel like he's going to get annoyed with me and I feel like such a bitch.
  • Began our vintage movie poster collection with Creature fron the Black Lagoon and The Invisible Man. Our living room is going to feel like an old theater lobby!
  • Saw Toy Story 3 with Alex. God, I love Pixar movies with all my heart.
  • Turned in my old apartment keys. Goodbye for good Richmond! Full steam ahead in a new town, in a new house, with a new job with the man I love.
  • Got my first paycheck from the SPCA...the biggest paycheck I've ever had in my life thus far! Feels great to be working full-time since graduating college.
  • Finally worked up the courage to say hi to Julea at the gym instead of pretending I didn't see her. Yay! Old friends!
  • Ran the Heritage Fest 5 miler with Jessica, Paul and Laura Weidenbach! It was fun and we ran along the canal trail which I had never been on. Gave me a view of Fredericksburg I had never seen and made me love it here more and miss Richmond less.
  • Saw Predators with Alex. Pretty sweet.
  • Getting back into stretching and flexibility. More seriously researching schools to take trapeze classes at! There's a good one in D.C. that I'm looking into.
  • Saw Inception with Alex. Mind-blowing. I love movies that make you think.
  • Had a week of car-lessness, inconvenience and bickering with Alex. But we survived!
  • Saw The Other Guys. Much longer than I expected. Not as funny as I expected. Meh.
  • Started my payment plan for my school loan. Sweet. They'll be getting money from me for 10 years...
  • Finsihed my House of Gaunt painting, finally! It was fun to do something completely from my head, something I had never seen depicted anywhere else before. I hope this is not the last of the Harry Potter inspired and related artwork from me. I'd like to do my own interpretation of the Lovegood House next. Unfortunately, the more I look at it, the more I find things I don't like about it. A painting is never really done!
  • Bought my first Neil Gaiman book. Hooked! Can't wait to voraciously read through everything he's written.
  • Started my Hayao Miyazaki movie collection finally. With Spirited Away, of course!
  • Went on a 10.5 mile hike with Dad and Janette. White Oak Canyon and Cedar Run in the Shenandoah National Park. The hardest and longest hike I've ever done. Saw lots of waterfalls. It was beautiful...but very hard! I felt so bad for my dad who fell several times because it was very steep and slippery and he was so worried about his hurt shoulder. But we did it and it was a great experience especially together. I got to know Janette alot better and I know my mom would probably disown me if she ever found out, but it's important that I move on and forgiveness of my dad and Janette is a huge step.
  • Bought all of our tickets for our annual pilgirmage to Orlando. I cant believe I'll be seeing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter soon!
  • Saw Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with Alex. I love movies based on comic books! It was so creative. It didn't get good reviews, but I loved it!
  • Started a new Prismacolor drawing of a bird. Usually, I get frustrated quickly and easily but so far, this pieces if coming along nicely.
    • All in all, a great summer. On to my Fall '10 list!
