anotherrr character that was supposed to initially be a self insert, but grew to be his own. then i got attached and boom, theyre basically me AGAIN lol.

ghost is an artificial hedgehog, created in a program called project shadow 2. it was made of several scientists associated with gerald, using technology for their livelihood to make the perfect creation that lived up to their old friend's initial intentions.

using the remainder of hedgehog DNA, and a chaos emerald (specifically the white one), it seemed as if they were on the right track.

but that went haywire, once GUN discovered ghost's existence. they were going to shut it all down like they had did beforehand, not wanting any repeats, but the scientists took the hard choice of letting GUN turn him into their perfect weapon before completion.

it took a lot of convincing and promises, but much like his predecessor, ghost was rewired into a being capable of destruction, intended to kill any enemy in sight. such a decision was heartbreaking, but they didn't want to lose so much of their progress.

• ..plus, they had a backup plan, anyways. but that's for another story.

sometime after ghost was finished, and he rapidly aged to around 8-9, he was taken to GUN's headquarters, spending the rest of his life for awhile training in battle. harshly, but he tried not to let it bother him.

this all came to an end once shadow was freed, ghost (now 17-18)'s mission was to find his "broken" copy and destroy him. which he set out to do for the majority of sa2's events, before hearing gerald's final message.

he felt...a strange sense of sympathy that he never felt before. or any emotions that wasn't just blank faced seriousness. he realized that shadow wasn't a lesser version of himself, he was just an entirely different person.

so he refused to complete his mission, instead turning to help sonic and shadow. as a means of redemption, he tried his best to save the latter, but failed, and went into hiding. feeling as if that was his first true unsuccessful mission.

he wandered around, thinking about himself, and hiding away from GUN until he showed up there one day. just to state that he was quitting, and that he was gonna find himself, because clearly, there was more to him than just being a destructive weapon.

doesn't do a whole lot in heroes, mainly just being self reflective, until ShTH. that's when he finally learns that shadow was alive, and that he didn't fail, meaning he could have a better chance at redeeming himself through guiding shads to the correct path, showing what he had learned.

but as a result, he comes across his original creators, the people who were nothing but a forgotten memory at this point, thanks to the rewrites to his brain and excessive training. they explained everything to him, and he just...ran away. he felt betrayed.

how could those who made him could thrust him into so much confusion and stress?

that was the first time he ever cried.

he pushed it all away, just to focus on helping shadow for now, realizing he cant just lament on terrible people, and that he should care more about the people who need his help.

it all came to a success. shadow moved on, ghost took his words in mind and tried to move on, which is still an overall slow process.

while shadow joined GUN, ghost prefers to not associate with them anymore, and instead live a more relaxing nomadic life, aiming to look for the best. he does, however, help out team dark on occasion.

ghost is stoic, and has trouble with showing emotions unless hes pushed into it. has violent tendencies, but overall is trying to be a sweet guy.
