- It's okay to disagree with this outlook, as long as you recognize that believing only certain types of art should exist and that those creating and sharing art outside of these criteria should be punished with exile or elimination is, at its foundation, a classically conservative idea utilized as a tool of control by nearly every fascist regime that has ever established power over a state, including the Nazi Party and the DPRK. If you believe art should be policed in this manner, yet believe yourself to be a leftist, I suggest taking a moment to reconsider what political identity label you want to wear vs. what principles you actually posses.
