• viola davis (not a trope, but still)
• period films (esp 17th-19th centuries)
• foreign/foreign language films
• films set in pretty places (e.g. the piano)
• travel through multiple lands(e.g. raya and the last dragon)
• when a relationship-driven film keeps bookends with, or keeps flashing back to, the beginnings of a relationship (e.g. one day, blue valentine)
• soldiers representing opposing sides of a war have to learn to like each other (e.g. tangerines)
• anything relating to bees or beekeepers (e.g. hive, honeyland...)
• escalating pranks (e.g. bride wars)
