march around the world is a challenge on letterboxd where participants try to watch 30 movies from 30 different countries during the month of march. these are generic ideas and then personal ideas for themes for future years:

  • horror movies (or: pick a genre)

  • films about immigrants/people of color / movies about diaspora
  • all films from the same decade
  • animation (or all films from a particular style)
  • shakespeare adaptations
  • about indigenous people
  • adaptations of political figures/events/foundings
  • folk tales
  • remakes of other movies
  • legal

• let casey pick all the movies
• watch only films that haven't been watched for march around the world yet
  • the host of the challenge makes a spreadsheet each year with all the movies/countries/etc watched, so I could attempt to make a list of films no one has watched specifically for the challenge
• watch the top rated films from 30 countries, maintaining the "no rewatches" and "1 film per country" rules
• pick as many films portray a global event as possible (e.g. multiple countries' films about wwii)
