Here is the number for the US National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255) . It is free, confidential, and available 24/7. If you are not in serious danger, but need an outlet for any sort of issue, I highly recommend calling this hotline. I have called once and the woman I spoke to was very kind. I'm a rather awkward person, so I didn't know exactly what to say, but she asked me questions and filled in the gaps of silence. They will ask you if you're in danger, but they only take action when it sounds like you're really going to do something (e.g. you tell them you have a plan to kill yourself). Trust me, I've talked to my school counselor quite a few times about suicidal thoughts. I'm telling you this because I was skeptic about telling people. I didn't went to be hospitalized for suicide-watch or be forced into an immediate therapy appointment. If you really feel like you need to talk about something, I hope this gives you the courage to do so and that it truly helps you. You don't need to say if you're having suicidal thoughts or anything, you can just say that you want to talk.

Here are some International Suicide Hotline Listings.
