"Strange, but true, statistics say making your bed every day allows your brain to start functioning in an organized manner. You are accomplishing a goal immediately as you rise, and it will set the tone for the rest of your day."

"There is also a connection to happiness; it makes me feel more "on top of things" and more organized which probably bleeds into other parts of my life. I think this ritual gives you the feeling that if you can stop and do that one small thing that may seem tedious, you can take the time for other organizational tasks you might be inclined to put off. You will realize it's not so bad to just do it, and it takes a mere minute or two... It also definitely makes your bed a more inviting place at the end of each day."

I came across this article when I was looking at a pin suggesting children should make their beds everyday. While I'm an organized and somewhat obsessive compulsive person, I thought - "Who cares? Why does the bed have to be made if no one is coming over? I use it everyday. It doesn't seem practical to fix it to mess it up in fewer than 24 hours. It's just a superficial chore." So I resorted to the google to see what other people thought. Now I have a different perspective about it. I'm seriously going to try incorporating into my daily routine and see if it helps me be more productive and feel more fulfilled. Maybe it will help you feel more in control of your life.
